Scott Mayer
Director of Instruction | Dunegrass Golf Club
PGA Certified Teaching & Coaching Professional

With over 35 years of experience teaching the game of golf, Scott Mayer is one of Maine’s
most respected and accomplished instructors. As Director of Instruction at Dunegrass Golf
Club in Old Orchard Beach, Scott works with golfers of all ages and skill levels—from
beginners discovering the game to competitive players seeking lasting improvement.

A 1991 graduate of Ferris State University’s Professional Golf Management program, Scott
has built his career on clear communication, simple fundamentals, and a player-centered
teaching philosophy. His instruction focuses on building repeatable motion, improving
consistency, and helping golfers play better golf without overthinking the swing.

Scott is a four-time recipient of the Maine PGA Teaching Professional Award (2004, 2008,
2015, 2016) and was honored as the 2013–2014 Maine PGA Number One Instructor, as
voted by his peers. These recognitions reflect not only his technical expertise, but also his
ability to connect with students and deliver results.

At Dunegrass Golf Club, Scott oversees all instructional programs, including private lessons,
clinics, and player development programs. His goal is simple: to help golfers enjoy the game
more, improve faster, and develop skills they can rely on for a lifetime.

“I’ve been in the golf business my entire life. My goal is to build long-lasting relationships
and help every golfer—new or experienced—develop a lifelong love for the game.”
